How does Aunt Alexandra involve herself in Maycomb's social life?

Comment on Aunt Alexandra's ideas about breeding and family. Why does Atticus tell them to forget it? Who is right, do you think?

  1. Comment on Aunt Alexandra's ideas about breeding and family. Why does Atticus tell them to forget it? Who is right, do you think?

Aunt Alexandra wants Jem and Scout to behave very well because she wants them to live up to their name and wants them to show Maycomb County who they are. Atticus tells them to forget it because he doesn't think its important and he doesn't want Jem and Scout worrying about it their whole lives. I think Atticus is right because Jem and Scout were already starting to get confussed and worked up over it.

  2. Why does Aunt Alexandra come to stay with Atticus and his family? What is she like?

Aunt Alexandra came to stay with Atticu because Aunt Alexandra thinks Scout needs more Feminin structure. Aunt Alexandra is a lady who has to have things her way, even if it means changing things to do it. Aunt Alexandra is one of those ladies that will have other women over for tea, and discuss the weather and have small talk.

Alexandra said Scout was "dull" because Scout told her she did absolutly nothing on her summer break. Not all adults are right when they say someone is dull. In this case though I believe Aunt Alexandra had that opion because Scout said nothing happened.
